- Susp. rear: Leaf, solid axle
The High-Lift platform was hailed as the Bruiser/Hilux/Mountaineer for the 21st century. Each features a servo-shifted three-speed transmission, full-time four wheel drive, a single-servo four wheel steering option, metal frame rails, lockable diffs in solid axles, leaf spring suspension, and a detailed ABS hard-shell body. The release of the new chassis was exceptionally well-timed for Tamiya, as the crawler and scale truckl segment was just picking up, and the High Lift presented an excellent base for both high-dollar show trucks and slow-moving, realistic trail runners.
Pros: Detailed ABS body, scale-style suspension & driveline, wide gearing range Cons: Limited articulation, high center of gravity
