Tamiya's second full-sized front-drive chassis, the short-lived FF02 was based on the M03 mini platform, with a simple bolt-in extention added behind the battery slot. With the distinct forward weight bias of the chassis, the inside rear tire of the car tends to float up in the air in hard turns, which causes oversteer, a handling characteristic generally unexpected out of a FWD car. Though this can be resolved with proper suspension tuning, the FF02 was never quite able to match the performance of its predecessor.
Pros: Very simple design, great parts availability due to M03 popularity Cons: High center of gravity dampens its handling potential
