One of the more memorable & impactful movements in the RC hobby in the first decade of the 21st century was the emergence of mini- and micro-scale land vehicles. Tamiya had actually pioneered this space in the late 1980s with their TamTech series of 1:24th scale hard-body onroad cars that were well before their time and never took off. In 2003 Tamiya began testing the small-scale market again with the 1:18th TLT-1, and in 2006 they revived the TamTech name for a brand new 1:16th scale series called the GB-01, first introduced as an RTR set with a body inspired by the classic 1:10th scale Frog.
Pros: Great looks, convenient size, sturdy, balanced chassis design Cons: Extremely slow in stock form, bouncy ride
